The USU's Medical Doctor's Degree (MD) programme is
recognised by the following bodies :
- Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)
- Public Services Department (JPA), Malaysia
- Indonesian Government
- Badan Akreditasi Nasional (BAN), Indonesia
- Lembaga Akreditasi Negara (LAN)
- Ministry of Education Approves

The BAN awarded the highest level of accreditation to this programme. The BAN is a government body that is on par with the Malaysian Accreditation Board (LAN).
